How to prepare
Preparing for Your Treatment at The Precision Clinic
At The Precision Clinic, we are committed to ensuring that your treatment journey is as smooth and stress-free as possible. Proper preparation plays a vital role in achieving successful outcomes. Here is what you need to know to get ready for your consultation, diagnostic tests, or surgery.
Before Your Consultation
Gather all relevant medical records, including previous test results, imaging scans, and details of any medications you are currently taking. This will help your consultant fully understand your medical history and condition.
If you have private medical insurance, confirm your policy details and obtain pre-authorisation from your insurer for the consultation or treatment. For self-funding patients, ensure you understand the costs involved and payment options.
Diagnostic Tests Preparation
Depending on the diagnostic test (e.g., X-rays, MRI scans, or ultrasounds), you may be given specific instructions. For example, you might be asked to wear loose, comfortable clothing or avoid eating before certain procedures.
Notify the clinic if you have any implants, pacemakers, or metal objects in your body, as these may affect certain imaging tests.
Arrive at least 15 minutes early to complete any required paperwork and to familiarise yourself with the facility.
Preparing for Surgery
You will be provided with detailed pre-operative instructions, including guidelines on fasting, medications to stop or continue, and hygiene practices. It is important to follow these instructions carefully to minimise the risk of complications.
Arrange for someone to accompany you to the clinic on the day of surgery and to assist you during your recovery period at home.
Discuss any concerns or questions with your consultant beforehand to ensure you are fully informed and confident about the procedure.
Post-Treatment Preparation
Plan for your recovery by organising your home environment and arranging for any necessary support, such as mobility aids or home care assistance.
Attend all scheduled follow-up appointments to monitor your progress and address any concerns promptly.
Follow the rehabilitation plan provided by your consultant, including physiotherapy or exercises, to optimise your recovery.
At The Precision Clinic, our team is here to guide you through every step of the process, ensuring that you receive the highest standard of care. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
